Once a month, the Observatory partners with local telescope groups to share their telescopes and knowledge with the public. With dozens of telescopes on the lawn, there’s always something to see! Star Parties are free and open to the public. They are held on the front lawn of the Observatory, with the assistance of volunteers from the Los Angeles Astronomical Society (LAAS), the Sidewalk Astronomers, and the Old Town Sidewalk Astronomers. Knowledgeable volunteers are available to guide visitors in observing the sun, moon, planets, and other objects.
